Gold Coast Artifacts is the partnership of Alicia Goode and Shalon Leimpeter in Oakland, California.  Alicia is an artist and museum professional who has 20 years of experience working with natural history specimens.  She currently combines her love of science and art as a taxidermist and exhibits preparator at a local museum.  Shalon has a passion for animals and enjoys metalsmithing and jewelry making.  She has an interest in geology that stems from growing up exploring and collecting minerals on her family’s mining properties in the Ruby Mountains of Nevada.  This venture allows us to pursue our mutual lifelong infatuation with the natural world.

Our shop carries an array of natural history-inspired goods such as fossils and minerals (we collect many of them ourselves), prints, vintage/antique artifacts, and jewelry.  We incorporate natural elements into our jewelry, all of which are designed and fabricated by the two of us.

In addition, Gold Coast Artifacts offers custom taxidermy services and takes orders for skeleton articulation, specimen preparation, and taxidermy restoration for educational institutions, museums, and private collectors.  Both of us appreciate the beauty of wildlife and all living beings and are mindful of our sources.  All of the taxidermies we sell are vintage or antique, and any bones or other animal specimens sold are collected in the field and/or died of natural causes.

Thank you for visiting our site, we hope you enjoy!
